bnz 45 # 6403 T

Here is a late, matching, K98k I picked up with the help of a forum member.
Please excuse the blurry pics, they don’t do this rifle justice.

The band holes appear to have never had screws in them.

The TG is a silver colored phosphate. The Floor Plate is grey phosphate.

The bolt is very crudely machined and hard to operate. Needless to say, I don’t remove it often to keep the wear level to a minimum.

The bore is exceptional. J

Enjoy guys.

I love these T blocks....and walnut to boot! I'm waiting for the day I can get my hands on one of these......

Great rifle.

Don,

You should have said "Late, Late, Late" war! Some old notes I have showed Military serials ending in the 3000T range. Happily we live and learn.
Seeing your rifle was a treat. Thanks!

Ogtree

Hi Dave,

Ye man, I love 'em late too.
I have to get some pics made of the "twins" and then I'll post 'em up. It may be awhile though. I have to wade thru those old worthless, but matching, WW1 snipers to get at them. Just kiddn

Pawn shop find

I found this from what I'm told but couldn't find any evidence that this is a Steyr and this thread was the closest to the numbers i could find. Dnz 45 with serial number 6792. Can anyone help me? I swear i combed the internet before asking on here.

Its a Steyr. The B was not stamped very well. BNZ 45

You think so? I know I'm new here, i just see very pristine and legible numbers this one almost is clearly a "D". I suppose late in the war they were in a hurry.

Absolutely positive its a bnz. There was no DNZ code. bnz was famous for weak stamps.

Is there a letter under the serial number? I agree, it is bnz45.

Here’s a photo of the serial number. Everything appears to be matching numbers just that bnz looks odd. Thank you guys for your help!

Ok, that is a “q” block, the first series of bnz45. Is there a bayonet lug or a metal plate on the end?
