Finally a Few Period Pics From My Photo Albums...

EOD - bombs and bullets
I finally had a chance to take pics of some of the pics in a few of my German photo albums...

This first group is from my favorite album, a real combat related album with some really great pics, including some of a KC winner...He is pretty highly decorated NCO, Close Combat Clasp, EKI, EKII, Winter War, I believe Czech Occupation, Infantry assault, and of course the KC. I think this may have been the day awarded, judging by the group pic with the officers...

The two guys are interesting too, note the loaf of bread and the helmet full of 15 rnd ammo boxes...nice MP-40 pouch on the other guy...

I really like the trench shot too, and the Landser helping his wounded Kamerade....dig the camo helmet covers too.

The line of Russian KIA is pretty macabre, as is the hanged Russians...perhaps partisans, or prisoners who really pissed off their captors...judging by their uniforms they aren't civilians...

Great photos

Nice to see combat guys in photos. Most of these albums have non-combatant guys resting... Thanks for posting.

This next group is from a different album, interesting as it shows early war training...

A couple of the shots clearly show M1918 type steel helmets with lugs, and Gew 98's...

Another shot of cleaning weapons clearly shows what I believe is a VZ-24 in use...

Cool pics indeed. Yep, Vz.24 on the left, the fellow on the right has the receiver tray / lower of an MP.40 on the table.

Very cool Pzjgr thanks for sharing. Always interesting to see the war from an individuals perspective. Has the first album been attributed to an individual/unit?

Thanks guys, I really enjoy photo albums, plus if you go over the pics with a fine tooth comb and good magnifier, you never know what you might find!

Some more from the first album...BD, yes I have traced it to a unit, but not an individual. I would love to figure out who the Ritterkreuz Trager is....

The cover of the album...the Russian cap star was attached when I bought it...

I like the guy in the Panzer wrap at Tanneberg, and the guy cleaning the ppsh...

These pics are from an album from a guy in a Panzerjager unit, showing the French campaign, this album has pre war family photos too...the SS guy must be a brother or friend, it is on the last page with some other guys in Luft uniforms...

Note them hauling away a dead French soldier using pickaxes in the shoulder tabs...

There is also a picture of a dead French Colonial troop labeled "Neger" which I found interesting...

I will look up the unit when I go back up the the lair...

OK, the first album seems to belong to a guy in Infanterie Regiment 119, 25th Infanterie Division (Mot.), later Panzer Grenadier Division 25 which was destroyed as part of Heeresgruppe Mitte in 7.44

The French Album belongs to a guy in the Panzerjager Kompanie, Infanterie Regiment 21, 17th Infanterie Division....

Ham, I think the fellow in the front (lower right) is cleaning a stripped down MG34 receiver. You can see the sling swivel boss at the bottom of the grip panels if you look closely, along with the barrel shroud , sling and double barrel carrier at the front of the table. The guy on the front left of the table has the feed pawl block while the guy behind him is brushing the feed tray. JH

The last picture in this set is taken in Russia, the knocked out tank is a Russian tank.

The crashed plane is a Dewoitine 520. Only three of them remain now.

Great pics. On the gun cleaning picture it looks like the short sight hood on the front end of a G33/40 on the table with the VZ24.
