A buddy of mine picked this up in August, and I have been trying to figure a way to get it off of him since....finally found the right trade....thus I now own a PIAT. Very cool, and all there save the cork, but the chain and holder are there, so I just need to replace the actual cork. Original paint, needs some cleanup, but I was happy to get it....now I can re-enact that scene from A Bridge Too Far!

They always remind me of the Brit First Airborne Division at Arnhem.

That is pretty cool. One had to be a man to destroy a tank with one. In researching my Seaforth Highlanders named helmet I ran across this about ole Smokey Smith earning his VC with a PIAT:

One had to be a very, very brave man to fire a PIAT at a German tank!
I think they were delivered with a VC, for the case the soldier was succesfull.
