Here, at long last, is a series of photos of my all-matching but the bayonet bar/cap G98/40 - jhv 43. Thank GOD it is walnut - I wouldn't have bought it if it was laminate (I dislike laminate even on my K98's)
Note the remnants of white distemper/paint on the sling loop - likely winter camouflage remains.
Didn't take a shot of the LK5 marking, but can do so if wanted.
If you see any concerns with the rifle, let me know, but it looks and feels 100% right to me. I have taken it completely apart (including bolt) and the only mismatch is the bayonet bar as mentioned already. The stock channel and handguard serials are removed, but it seems a LONG time back, and the butt matches the rest.
