These two videos are interesting from an "unscientific" comparison stand-point.
Not often you see them both fired in such similar conditions -
1. The early model FG42 - appearing more difficult to control - 20 and 10 rounds mags used.

2. The later model - seemingly a lower ROF and easier to control - although the bayonet does seem to work itself loose.
