Hi all, I'm new to this forum(I found out about it from Gunboards and the Kriegsmodell book), and was hoping I can get some insight/opinions on this rifle. I'll probably have to post pictures in two seperate posts.
Thank you all in advance!
Tom

Are you looking to buy this rifle or do you own it? If you want a yes or no on the purchase I'd say pass on it. It's very suspect on a number of issues. The rifle its self is not numbered correctly for a 'c' block 44byf. So that strike one. I cant see the bands. But, the trigger guard and floorplate should be serialed in this letter block. The mounts and rifle are proofed correctly but, those stamps are in reproduction so it's a guess as to the correctness of the rifle. It does have the small bunny ear stamp where the bolt closes down. Not sure if guys are repoping that stamp or not. I'm very leary of this one sorry to say..

Sorry to say I have to agree with Mauser99 HT is without a doubt Very Suspect . Can say for sure the Front Base is NOT Original look at thr Corners there are no relief Bevel Cuts or Knocked off Corners . Then the Front Ring Numbering looks a bit odd. Ring looks Original just looks as if there may have been some Monkey Business with Numbering . I have seen Front Rings that have rifle letter Suffix on them and this is correct for the Suffix at end of or even above serial number . Also as was mentioned Bands & Trigger Guard and Floor Plate should have Serial Numbers . Usually if one thing is bad you should look for other things and most times You will find other problems . I am not sure but will say the Bluing looks Redone to me , maybe another could answer this point for sure . Best Advise KEEP LOOKING !!!!!!!!! Best Regards

Thank you both very much for your time and expertise. The stock and handguard are also numbered to the rifle in the barrel channel, but I didn't have the rifle disassembled prior to taking the pictures. I guess the person putting the rifle together didn't think about numbering the trigger guard and floorplate. I really appreciate both your input.

I have run scope picture through Adobe Photoshop and the serial number on side of range saddle looks to be 41566. If correct a kahles manufactured military scope in this range would be engraved Kahles H/4 x 60 not a cad engraved scope.

Hi Vaughn,
I tried to get a better picture of the scope serial # but it wouldn't come in too clear. See if this picture is what you need. Does this rifle have any redeeming points and value?
Thank you,
Tom

I have I BIG Magnifying Glass You Can Borrow , But by the Time I send it and it gets to You
the Scope Number Could change from Aging . Paul You must have looked at it on one of those Drinking Nights You Mentioned to me around Christmas . Always best and easiest to Blame it on to Much Drink . Best Regards

It has Value the sum of the Parts but that`s it , Barreled Action minus Bases is Good , Scope is Good but not Rings and then again Parts . $Max $2000 to $2500 and that`s calling it at the High End I would say . What do others think ? Best Regards
