Weekend show finds. 18/31 & m35 combat luftshutz

I bought these this past weekend at the Boxboro MA monthly show. I have not attended in years but now I'm sure I'll be hooked again. I've always had a "thing" for stahlhelms and this goes back to my youth. The m18/31 is a double re-work as it was rebuilt in the late thirties then re-worked a second time with an up-date of textured paint and the decal was re-applied. M18's are much rarer than the more common 16/17 shell. Also The m35 luftshutz is nice just needing a liner. Prices were very reasonable...

Ya, 450.00 out the door on the rework!! When he told me the price I could'nt get the money out of my wallet fast enough...

That rework was a steal at that price! That helmet has seen a lot. If only it could talk.... lot of history there, Great find at a great price!

I like the stalhelm myself, have a great normandy camo SD heer that is my best, and only a few others.

But that pot you found! wow!:happy0180:

Hello mauser99,

Nice M18/31!

Can you can still see these reworks being worn on the frontline by some soldiers of the reservist units in May 1940, such as these of the 208ID & the 225ID.

Cheers,
Peter

Thanks Peter,Alot of these helmets show little to know use. They must of been repainted for combat conditons as the early paint would of been fine for guard duty.
There was also a 17/31 there in the same color sceme just not quite as nice. I could'nt get the seller to come down to were I had just bought this one so I let it lay. It will still be there in two months when I go back for sure. Maybe then we can come to terms. You can never have to many stahlhelms !!!!!
