No good, I don't like it. I could be wrong, but I have never seen such a stamp before and I collect SS used items.

Wasn't the MP 35 used exclusively by the SS and Police units?

Not counting Export models of course.

A little searching turned up a couple of SS-Wa1 marked MP35s and a few more marked with SSZZA1.

No idea if the markings are real or not though.

It's legit. I have tons of pics of Mp35s I have been collecting as reference for a scratch semi auto build. Here are a couple of pics of each style of marking.

I point to the ground dug receiver as evidence of originality of that style mark.

No problem. You guys are all light years ahead of me on mausers so it's nice to be able to contribute something worthwhile instead of soaking up all your good info.

Looks like they must have transitioned to the Wa1 mark in 42, the earlier dates all seem to have the SSZZA1 mark.

Thank you,i am not familiar with this stamp, now i am:thumbsup: This gun is at display in a Dutch museum, they say it was the personel gun of Anton Mussert (leader Dutch NSB) Taken from him when he was arrested may 1945. More likely its the gun from a bodyguard.

ssZZA1 stamp on MP35/I

I saw yours in another thread Xavier. It seems this must be a very early production piece from them based on the 'JR' stamp. If Walther switched from making MP35/I to PPKs and then Junker & Ruh picked up the contract this must be how they were identified initially. By '41 they were 'ajf' through the end of production.

I wonder if anyone knows when their manufacturing code switched? Possibly beginning in 1941?
