A soldier who did not loose his sense of humor

I literally HAD to buy a picture album on a local show though I only ready it because I was bored and not interested at all in the shown pictures - but each page of this album was accompanied by a prior page which described what was shown.

The particular guy who made the album must have been a great fun to be with, because I had good laughs while reading. The best thing was the attached shown page. It would translate to English as follows:

Written above in curves:
WE CELEBRATE FESTIVALS AS THEY COME

Top corner, right side:

Text below:
Good food makes thirsty!

Eating poultry and following
quenching. (S. Pietro in Trento)

Picture below middle: The quenching in
advanced stadium. Uffz. Unger, a
ethnic German of Litzmannstadt (with
cup) is already singing Russian folk songs.
Our staff pharmacist, an Upper Aus-
trian, doing his best at a Schuhplattler. (folk dance by male dancers)
Götz seems to still be hungry,
he's trying to put his right foot into his
mouth and Thiel shows traces of
starting brain paralysis: he's drumming
with a piece of white bread on a pan.

I agree with that - but I do not remember seeing a lot of them writing down what they really did, and also taking pictures of that.
