The ID booklet is soooo bad.... Spelling errors, missing "Umlaute", even the guy's family name is misspelled.
As mrfarb said, hope you didn't pay too much for it.
With a not too worn out K98 you should be able to hit this booklet at 100 yards. And that's all it's good for.
The engraving (is it even engraved or maybe cast?) on the ring says "In memory of 41-42". That particular winter was devastating for German troops who froze to death at the outskirts of Moscow before the rest was pushed back by better equipped Russian forces. I doubt anybody would want to be reminded of that disaster.
These artifacts do have some entertainment value, though. On second thought, maybe you should offer them to Craig Gottlieb.
