FINALLY, got around to doing some pictures after tedious cleaning up the Ajack rig for my 100% genuine Oberndorf High Turret

I also put the "shooting" stock on the rifle (original stock is a VERY fragile Kriegsmodell stock - see other posts about it). The stock is LATE 44, with 2 piece construction crossbolt etc, and CLEAR e/135 markings. I think it looks good with it on, and of course I can shoot it like this (the original stock is in a well padded hardcase for preservation)

Scope cleaned up pretty darned well - still a little more to do, but slow and steady with oil and bronze wool. SOME pitting, but nothing I am worried about - gives it character for sure!

CAREFULLY disassembled the lenses, and gave them a good polish ultrasonically at a friend's work. They came up VERY nicely, and removed the black grease spots off the insides. I am NOT the best at holding a camera and rifle and aiming down the scope, so bear with it

Hope you like her at long last. I will do a proper set one day with the KM stock and proper backdrop etc.

Lewis,

Let me be the first to say... absolutely gorgeous, my friend! Mine is similar, but a restoration. nothing like this.

That A. Jackenroll telescope is the cream on the cake!

Jeff

By the way, I taught myself how to repair period lens seperation and recement them with pine pitch. It is not so hard as one might guess, if you have to do it. I would be happy to help.

Thing that I love is the solder splash out of the front ring - goes well with the sloppy front turret soldering.

That scope is LATE for an Ajack - like Dave said, possibly as late as Dec. '44.

I remember the cad scope on her - whilst a LOVELY scope, it just didn't look, well, "manly" compared to an Ajack :)
