Well, as complete as it is going to get. Landed an original Kahles cad military contract scope, and checkered buttplate.

It is in a KM walnut Wa135 stock, and all the right parts are all in the right places. Bolt matching, phosphate bolt with blued reciever. Barrel is recycled 1938 dated. Phosphate TG/FP double proofed MO. Arctic sunshade on the cad.

I have posted this before on other forums, but it is now "done", and well, I know you all like "gun porn" as much as I do! Why not post the pics since I FINALLY had some clouds without rain this afternoon for a shoot. (It is raining now in a tropical monsoon that I may have to build an ark for if I don't get killed by lightning first.)

Thanks to Dave Roberts and Bruce Karem for a lot of help with this one.

Enjoy.

Jeff

Thanks very much. This was a labor of love. It was a sporter that had been tossed around by several owners, I guess. It took a while to get it all together. It has excuses, but I love this rifle. We collect what we love!

Forgot one pic, all important! Sorry about the dog hair on the sniper shop proof. My entire life is covered in dog hair, it seems.

Very nice.

Do you have a picture of the "before" condition?

Somewhere I have the pics from the Gunbroker auction, and a couple "during" pics of the resoration. I can't find them.

I'll keep looking, but it might not happen.

Another note is it has a 1938 dated recycled barrel, very cool. The KM book specifically states ALL snipers in this timeframe should have the reciever serial added to the barrel shank, this one does not. But Bruce assures me that this one is an exception to the rule, he had it in hand. Some jackass tried to remove the barrel with a pipe wrench at some point, but failed. Bruce expertly repaired the marks left from this failed bubba job. It looks great now, like new. And all original markings are intact.

Fine job, getting one back into correct form is harder than many realize. Saved it from a bleak future, well done Jeff. Stan

Thanks very much, Stan.

I'm starting on a resto on an original bcd4 LSR now. I'll get some pics up here eventually.

How have you been? I should give you a call.

That is a great repro, one of the best I've seen!!

Sorry for late reply, but it's something I'm currently doing myself (and if mine turns out to be half as good I'll be pleased!)

I've just bought a Military cad scope and mounts from Robert S. but I am now looking for the front metal lens shade, does anyone know where I might find a good repro one of these?

Thanks, and again - great work!

Well, I brought a cad early this year, with it's not in good condition, I send it to Robert for refurnish and mount with a HT. He offer me a repo sunshade for a attractive price.
May be you can try to see if he still have some left. Regards Kelly
