I kind of like the rare extra varnish finish...... :eek:

I like how the takedown washer looks...too much action on it and it looks pimped. Amazing recovery

Let us know how you did it.
 
Nice save, how did you restore the stock after stripping it.

As I recall, just stripped off the old shellac/varnish and what ya see is what I got... pretty simple. If I added anything back, it was Howard's Feed/Wax. Was lightly sanded (grrr) but the metal is superb.
