This my only Mauser. My dad bought it through "Shotgun News" shortly after returning from the war. He was lucky to get one in pretty good shape. He used the rifle for deer hunting in northern Michigan several years. It has not been fired for over 40 years and won't be as long as I have it. It is a 1928 version with all matching parts. The black band near the front band is electrical tape dad wrapped around it to reenforce a small crack in the wood forepiece. The strap was also a later addition for hunting purposes.
