Matching zf4 mount and wood case.

This is a real early mount. Blued square edged. Whats odd is we can find no e/214 on it ? Wood case is stenciled to the mount. This practice was phased out at some point. As most cases are not stenciled.

Again, very nice and thanks.

The Germans were not as "perfect" as some like think, some slipped through the system without all of the proper proofing more than once.

This brings up a question, on 214 mounts. Most all are proofed on the rt side of the mount. There are a few out there with the proof on the left side. Is this just a "transition" period, where the inspection personnel were not sure exactly where to proof? Is it an error..Monday morning proof...or is is something else, that specifies something special happened with this mount.

I have always wondered, and we may never know.

Mauser99, excellent set! Great addition to any collection. I'm curious. I can not see it in any of the photos, but is the locking lever rolled pin in the 'white'? And if you look close in the pin, does it have a solid center? Photos?
Thanks-
