K98 Duffle Cut

My son bought a GI bringback K98, all matching, but there is a duffle cut on the stock. Any ideas on how to repair the cut so it won't detach when he fires the rifle? Thanks

Where is it cut? Post some photos and somebody I'm sure can point you in the right direction
