Do you know in which time period they were produced and if they were officially used? I would say the Middle 30s... I would assume some were used as Training rifles since they have the set up and look of a DSM34....BILL

Bill,
Some interesting differences between your 8 shot mag compared to my 6 shot.

yes, the bb is 4.5 and you load it just like a regular mag fed weapon. mags and bb's can be purchased from a guy in the u.s. and also from a guiy who sells on g.b. One of these in nice condtion sells in the 400-500 range. I have never seen one to date with s/a or other markings.

I have a Mars 115 air rifle. It might use the same size BB. I will try to get some pics of it and start a new thread.
It is close to the Haenel, but has a storage pocket that holds the BB's. I hand load pellets to shoot it, by using the cleaning rod and loading like a muzzle loader.
It was a GI send back from WWII, I have a letter from the nephew of the guy who sent it back. He inherited the rifle. Military air rifles are a small nitch in the collecting world. I have two, the other is mid 50's Hakem/Anschutz air rifle.
