What is the likelihood....

S/42

Thunda from down unda
...of Erma still using walnut stocks in '39?

Reason I ask is I acquired a gorgeous all-original, all matching '39 27. Matching everything, but no bolt and no stock (seems this is a vet bringback that was bubba'd stock wise). Blue is incredible - true almost irridescant rust blue.

I contacted Mario for a stock, but missed the laminate e/280 he had. He did have a lovely walnut e/77, so settled on that - at least it is Erma, and fills the gap till I find a correct stock.

Having said all that, anyone seen a walnut e/280 stock? I know there were elm e/280 stocks - traded Farb mine!

Erma 1939

Hi Vulch:
Nice looking barrelled action, it will make a nice project.
Other makers used walnut stocks in 1939, so why not Erma?
I have a nice M/O 1939 with an original walnut stock, it
even has E/L proofs.
Tks,
Bob

Trick question? Walnut 280's are also found on S/243, 1937's so, yes, I have.
