G33/40 vs K98 short cleaning rods

What is the big difference between a G33/40 and a K98K short cleaning rod?
Does a member have pics with the two side by side?

The 33/40 rods are about 11 inches while the short 98k rods are about 10. 33/40 rods are unmarked and are found both with a tapered and standard neck. No pics right now but if someone doesn't post one I can probably do it at the end of the week.

Does this look like an original 33/40 rod? Its coming in a 33/40 I bought. The guy I bought it from says the rod has been with the rifle since he bought the rifle 35 years ago.

I was expecting it to have a darastic taper like Bob's. But this one looks like it has a little taper. Ive heard 33/40 rods can be found with and without the taper.

Thoughts?

It is not the real deal. I have both versions....with the taper and without the taper. The one without the taper came from Cliff Smires ages (30 years) ago. It is identical to a 10 inch rod, only it is 11 inches long. The patch end should have a nice radius in the transition area and not a square shoulder like the one shown.
