dow 6x30's with 1942 dow marked strap..+ added late war CAG's

I just bought these off the web and they were waiting for me when I got home from the sos.. Optics are great as is the conditon. The strap is the kicker. [1942 dow] very few are marked.. THis is the second dow set I have ever seen for sale. The other set I missed out on.. Enjoy. Bmk seems to be the primary Czech maker of bino's dow seems to have made very few. Scopes were their main focus I guess..

added. late war CAG's with case..

These are late war CAG's At some point cag and ddx switched from aul. bodied 6x30's to a cast zinc/pot metal body. This increased the weight quite a bit. I really like this set because they are not mint. They have paint wear Just at the point of contact with the hand. So they show honest field use. The case has alot of exposed rag filler and the belt straps are made of pressed paper. Only tabs remain. The pressed paper didnt fair well being bent back and forth multiple times..Optics are clear.

Both great binos, Wayne. I agree completely on the attractiveness of the wear pattern. I like things that made history, not just from part of history.

I have been wanting a zinc set of these for a long time!

Have you ever seen the super late unmarked ones? I have pics of a set somewhere. Thanks for posting these...keep 'em coming.

look what followed me home !!!

After the post office I stopped into a antique shop I havent been in in a while...This was in the corner.. 30 bucks out the door ! This is the tripod for the donkey/rabbit ear trench Binos..

AS for the blank binos that just say 6x30 its my thought along with others that they are imediate post war from left over parts..They were either made by ddx or cag as they are the only two makers that made this type of bino.

Nice!

A little salty, but for $30, who's complaining?

I have heard that about the unmarked binos, the Germans certainly marked everything, even to the end...we may never know, but you are likely 100% correct.
