Mauser 410B

Salut,

Here are some photos of a Mauser 410B .
The bore is very good but the original finish, or what is left of it, is quite damaged ...








I tend to shoot those 22Lr trainers so it will get to the range.
My gut instinct is to leave it as it is but I am really sitting on the fence with this one.
So I am curious of hearing what would you do ?
Leave it as it is or take it to the gunsmith for a re-bluing ?

I would not reblue it..... A little Hoppes #9 on a Q tip and light scraping with a brass penny (1959-1977) or bronze wool will get the rust off without damaging the bluing if you go slow. This will likely leave some discoloration, but at least it will still be original. You can try it in a couple of smaller non-obvious areas and test it out.
