Any ax code experts out there?

I am looking at purchasing a 1941 ax--all matching except the bolt (might be a armorer's replacement). The only thing giving me a headache is the font and metal finish on the trigger plate/guard. Doesn't look consistent with the rest of the rifle. Any experts on ax font? I have searched--to no avail--the internet for a photo of an ax trigger plate.

Show your rifles details and you will get help more readily.

However, as its a simple & quick question I will answer your question. No one is that good at faking serialing, and the tg group is consistent with other ax/41 rifles. Actually a quick peek shows Leon's LMD had an "e" block very close in numeric serialing to yours. Very near identical from what you show.

Anyway, what little you show is ok "serial number" font wise.

Rifle is a g block, serial 4xxx.

Thanks for the help. I'll be sure to contribute to the forum in the future! I have a couple K98s, G43s, and SVT40s.

Not sure where to locate the rifle you are refering to.

Wasn't sure if it was still up as its been up for several years but lucky you... its a re-barrel but front band and tg group is original. Should give you a feel for what to expect.

Welcome Ladorasurf. Below is an ax 41 floorplate and tg from my h block. One thing I can say is it appears that unit on the rifle you've depicted has been refinished. The bluing doesn't look right and there are dents and wear areas blued over.

I am not sure why someone would blue the trigger area and not the rest of the rifle. Strange. Anways, what's a fair offer for an AX 41 matching except with an armourer's bolt? Stock is clean, no sanding. But, apparently, touched-up.
