Opinions on k98k(?) action cover

Hi to All,
what's your opinion on this action cover? Is it genuine? There is no stampings besides the label in the 8th pic and the eagle in the 9th, it doesn't look worn even if looks smells old

not feeling it...

I dont own one but, there are a few around for sale and this one doesnt give me a warm fuzzy.. If it's 42 dated I dont think it would be maker marked like that..It should be coded..

I don't like it either. The leather and cloth have that artificial ageing you see on some European repro field gear.

The leather looks to be chemically aged and darkened. 70 year old leather should not smell. I wager this leather smells of petroleum based product and/or fresh leather.

The matter is just this, the leather doesn't smell, the web smells lightly old, moreover, when I touch the web, I feel on the fingers a sensation of the patina you find on old fabric stored for a long time in a warehouse. I've searched on the web for the current replicas of such a cover and, for that I've been able to judge from the pictures, there is a deep difference in the appearence between them and this one. I'm aware as well that an object can be aged but, at least in my experience, it is very difficult not to say impossible to eliminate the smell of the leather, so...
In spite of all that I'm not convinced or better I'm very suspicious about the genuinity of this cover.

P.S. Any idea on the name of the manufacturer on the label?
