going to check out a scope tomorrow....

Im going to buy a high turret tomorrow and the guy told me hes got a separate scope i can look at. Im good with rifles, but scopes not so much. Only info i have is that its a Hensoldt Dialytan 4x and has a serial number in the 61000 range. He thinks its an SSR scope (but doesnt know much about german snipers). No rings/mounts. I know that these were made pre- and post war. Can anyone give me any info on manufacture date based on this SN? Will get pics tomorrow.

scope will be prewar. serial should be on rear occular NOT on tube. you can use scope for SSR or Objective mount snipers. year is ABOUT 1937 maybe 38.
