dou 44 SN 6018ff; red glue stock; barrel code CJ dou; y in wrist, 3 in barrel channel; no cover plate on end of stock and no hole ever drilled for cover plate screw. Allegedly from estate of recently deceased vet.

CB, Could it be a "GJ"? The C* ranges are usually seen in late 1943, early 1944 by the BC study. In this range we have two other "GJ" reported and almost all others "G*"

In the dou/45 reports we have seen a very few earlier barrels show up, some with "U" markings, one as early as "BK" lot (most dou/45 are "H*" or "J*") so anything is possible.
