E/C Sauer 38H

My other police pistol: an early E/C Sauer 38H. Matching with an almost too nice high polish blue. I don't think its been refinished, but I'm not sure either. Got a 42 dated police marked holster and two correct high polish mags as well.

I think these are a little under-appreciated by collectors. The design was very ahead of its time with the cocking/decocking lever that are now a feature of the SigSauers. Sepp Dietrich actually carried one of these, and his 38H now resides in someone's private collection.

I've been seeing allot of e/c marked 38h's but this is by far the best condition.

I understand your concern, but I'm leaning towards not refinished..

I owned several of these until last year. Agree they were ahead of their time...I know why you have questions about the finish. Those Sauers tend to have the letters look polished or run down. I think this one is good.

Beautiful original 38H. From the serial number and the Eagle N Nitro proof, my guess would be late 1940 manufacture.
