Yes, tough to find. These did not appear to be part of the Ukrainian stock of pouches that have been around for a while now.

One variation that is still missing from my collection. Maybe Santa will bring them.:thumbsup:

Most found like this will have post war Czech. markings in them.

These are made by "RME". Some K98k pouches were also marked like this.

Another tough one!

This pouch was bought by me in 1996 in a vet estate auction.
The pouch was a direct bring-back and is coded fuq 1944 (barely legible) made by Cottbusser Lederwarenwerk Curt Vogel KG, Cottbuss.
It included a G43 mag with painted finish coded "aye" for Olympia Buromaschinenwerke and a K43 mag coded "awj" for The Yale & Towne Manufacturing Company. There was also "some sort of rifle with a telescope", but it disappeared some time after the vet's passing and before the auction. No one seemed to know where it had gotten to.

I had an RME 44 dated K98k pouch, traded it to Darrin Weaver, but the RME44 dated K43 pouch is the first I've seen. I've seen the RME45 like Wa623 posted, they are hard to find too. I have one that is unmarked I think.

Most people believe they are. I believe they are.

They came from the Ukraine over the last 5 years or so, in large numbers.

Its funny. My example of the original G43 pouch, Ersatz for sale is marked fuq 1945.

This is a great pouch, RME44, rarely seen as most seem to be RME45 dated. Note the unique pebble grain leather, unique to this manufacturer.
