Well as odd as it sounds. Gustloff made very few of their own barrels.. And steyr had a surplus in 41.
It's not un-common to see 41 dated steyr barrels on bnz-43 rifles. One must remember gustloff was just
an assembler. Some how they ended up with all the left over duv42 marked receivers when BLM gave
up k98 production. It's an interesting rifle. To bad about the stock. People just cant seem to leave them
alone !! Also the 'bo' on the barrel is a code indicating its a Bohler stahl barrel blank finished at steyr,

To be clear,

I think this is a BCD 43, using a left over DUV42 reciever and surplus '41 Steyr barrel..

So, more like three manufacturers....

Agreed. My 'r" block has the same "trefecta." Nice rifle type 96,

Hello,

Turbo and 3371940 are correct this is a BCD43 production serial with a DUV42 receiver. in the 1943 production it seems to have every surplus BBL manufaturer suppling Gustloff with barrels for rifles and they range from 1938-43 that i have seen.

later
