Mm410b

Well worn example with the stock altered to someone's personal taste. Original rear sight has been removed and an aftermarket rear sight added.

While it's collector value has been destroyed it has value for the parts or for building a custom sporter if it is functional and the extractor particularly and the clip are orginal.

Search here on Mauser MM410B and on-line search engines and you will find examples of what the gun should look like.

Have you shot it?

Here is what it originally looked like. Sorry I don't have a better file photo handy but you will find pics on line.

There currently a couple on gun broker. Search on Mauser 22lr there.

Thats what I suspected but only paid 175 for it, havnt had a chance to get to the range but it feeds and extracts fine and no signs of rust anywhere. Believe it will make a fine hunting rifle, thanks.

Absolutely!

And for what you paid, if you were in the US I would be happy to offer you twice that amount if only as a parts source!

Good Hunting!!!!!!!!

Suspect I did farely well as he also threw in a 40 year old Westley Richards pellet rifle and a Hillary commemorative telescope and a couple other items. They all belonged to a British WW2 vet who settled in Kenya after the war. If only these guns could talk what a story they must have.

They do talk

I suspect they have been talking to you. I know they do me. Particularly well worn and traveled examples such as this.

Yes they sure do, one day I'll probably have the stock redone and maybe some blueing and bring her back to life, thanks for the information.
