1916 Mauser Oberndorf

UPS brought me something new (but very old) today. All-matching, unsanded 1916 Gew98 made by MO. Crappy weather doesn't let me take better pictures, but I took the relevant ones for database purposes. Bore is in great shape, as is the rest of the rifle save for some mild cosmetic pitting on receiver and bolt. It'll look great next to the other two, 1917 MO and 1917 JP Sauer. Consider me bitten by the Gewehr bug.

BL,
Nice looking forward to fair weather pics. I need to add an Imperial WW1 rifle to my collection as my grandfather was an East Prussian EM.
Mike

I agree, a very good pick up; this is actually the highest known (confirmed) for MO/1916, quite a few ee blocks are known (confirmed) but this is the first confirmed ff block. Mike Welser sold it last year (9/2012) on GB, but he takes terrible pictures. I think Mauser/08 picked it up, not sure, he showed some pictures on Gunboards in October, but they weren't great either.

Ah, very cool! Traded/bought it from a guy on gunboards. Very happy to give it a new home!
