Got the DVD "Into the White" from Netflix and watched this movie last night.
Supposedly based on true events that happened during 1940 in Norway.
Question: The three surviving Luftwaffe Crewmen from the crashed HE 111 were all carrying wood-gripped Lugers in full size belt holsters with the spare clip, Would this be accurate for bomber crewmen in 1940? I thought Luftwaffe bomber crewmen would be armed with PP/PPK's or similar sized sidearms?
The two British pilots didn't have any sidearms.
Anyway was a good movie I guess, was filmed in Norway & Sweden, also the arms and equipment used by the Norwegian troops looked authentic, Norway model Krags and Colt 1914's.
I thought I saw one Norwegian soldier with a 98K, which would be too early (1940) for them to be issued with it, unless it was hypothetically captured from the Germans during the Norwegian Campaign before the surrender.
