- Biography:
- I'm new to the hobby of vintage firearms. I started shooting around 10 years old when my father bought me a brand new Mossberg 22 rifle in 1960. I did lots of squirrel hunting with that rifle and eventually joined my high school Varsity rifle team in 1965. My father bought me a used Winchester Model 52-D target rifle so I could compete. I still have and shoot these rifles. Fast forward to 1988 when my wife and I purchased a farm in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and I slowly over time built my own gun range with backstops at 25, 50, 75, 100, 160 and 200 yards. Over the years I've been slowly introduced to WWI & WWII era firearms, started reading and purchased a view. I consider myself more of an enthusiastic shooter of these weapons than a collector. However, I appreciate their historical value and have never refinished one, just sympathetic cleaning. Anyway, I'm looking forward to learning more.
