Picked up this Interesting 17.11 dated (November 1942) Japanese Type 94 pistol with original leather holster and two magazines. The spare mag still had one original round in it.
The pistol is all matching including one of the magazines.
The guy I got if from had some pretty nice examples of this...
Not specifically but I have these three wartime Astra's . The 600 is waffenamted with the correct issue DKK issue holster while the two Astra 300's are unmarked but in the known German contract serial number ranges with their original bring back holsters and spare mags.
I'm trying to I.D. this holster that was posted up on another forum. These are the pics he took. It has a CYQ P38 in it which looks to have been in it quite awhile. To me it doesn't look like anything standard German issue but the age of the leather and the name under the flap might indicate a...
I recently acquired this pistol from my friend who found it in a small pawn shop up north. As found, it was in a beat up unmarked commercial PP holster with TWO matching mags. Fortunately I had this particular Luftwaffe tropical Femaru holster waiting for a nice pistol.
These pistols were...
Someone on another forum has stated that the early Walther P38 mags with serial numbers, either on the floor plate toe or the side, had a "+' marking for the spare mag like the P08's. Is this accurate? I cannot find a single example of this anywhere.
Thanks, Mike
Here's another pic where you can see some of the material has been applied to the bayonet and turned yellow. All the shiny metal shown in the pics is this shellac/ varnish material not oil.
I'm not messing with the stock but what about the shellac/ varnish someone applied the metal surfaces?
(receiver, bolt, barrel, magazine, cleaning rod etc.)
After a bit of a milsurp draught lately I got a call from a local pawn shop I frequent about a Russian M-44 that came out for sale. I went there expecting some sort of refurb and was pleasantly surprised to find this old war horse. Decent condition 1945 dated M-44 with all matching numbers and...
My friend picked up this BNZ 45 barreled action SN 2923 in the T block with mismatched FN made bolt that matches itself. It has a un-numbered safety with a circled Z. Bore is pristine and he wants to correctly restore it as much as possible.
The finish is odd with some of it appearing blue and...
On another forum it was believed by some that no Czech produced rifles received the Heer H marking. I own and have seen 'dot' marked K-98k's with it and have a 'dou' made G-24t that also has it. But it seems the Bystrica manufactured K-98k's I can find good pics of don't have it. Anybody have...
Nice pics! I've had these cxn made bakelite type for a few years and they seem to be somewhat uncommon. Has anyone seen a picture of this type in use?
Mike
Thanks Dave. I appreciate the info. It's fairly elaborate compared to the fleamarket/ pawn shop Chinese made ones I've seen. Any idea what they were priced at back then?
This cased honor dagger was in a box of stuff I picked up from an estate liquidation. The widow had no info on where her husband acquired it. I am looking for information as to when it might have been made and by whom? Has anyone encountered one of these before?
Thanks, Mike
