    1917 DWM Gewehr 98

Excuse my ignorance, but what do you mean by RR? I assumed the muzzle cover was WW2 vintage and was paired with the rifle at a later date, but I can post photos of it as well.

    1917 DWM Gewehr 98

I initially thought that as well, but I thought that a circle z was used by the Czech on small parts? What do you mean by trigger work?

    1917 DWM Gewehr 98

Thank you both for weighing in. Even if it’s been messed with I’m still happy with it. I paid 1250 and it came with 40 rounds of Romanian 8mm and a muzzle cover that’s marked with a 63 waffenamt, which I believe is Mauser. Is there a way to tell what was replaced by the depot? And do you...

    1917 DWM Gewehr 98

Hello, I recently purchased this 1917 DWM Gewehr 98. Everything appears to match, however the cocking piece, safety, and firing pin are not numbered and the trigger is marked 12. It also appears to me that the number on the bolt was restamped after the original number was ground off. I was...

    Help with J.P. Sauer 41 Kar98

After researching it some last night I understand what you mean. I don't think I'm going to try and take the band off. Doesn't really bother me if it was cut, just gives it a little more history. Were any of the k98k stocks ever varnished out of the factory or by soldiers in the field?

    Help with J.P. Sauer 41 Kar98

I measured the rifle and it was the correct length. Why do you think it is a duffel cut?

    Help with J.P. Sauer 41 Kar98

I kinda figured that the stock had been tampered with at some point. The bayonet does have a matching scabbard, however neither match the rifle. How much do you think the altered stock will harm the value?

    Help with J.P. Sauer 41 Kar98

I recently purchased an all matching 1941 CE Kar98k. All of the Waffenamts are correct for the manufacturer and date, and in the correct locations. My only concern is that the font used on one part of the receiver does not match the other font. There appears to be no tool marks or attempts to...
