    Gustloff KKW Question

Chicken The electro-penciling of the bolts perplexed me. My mind always went 2 places with this: the Buchenwald factory kept qc counts using a electropencil or they sourced the bolts out to a satellite location. I doubt there was ever any intention to have them match the s/n to the rifle. In...

1936 Walther KKW. Yes it is true

The highest serial I have seen is 5354S. I imagine there are a few higher s/n's but not to much further up. I suspect Walther dropped the KKW project to pursue the G-43 (and other projects), and with the Gust KKW in mass production and with massive problems with forced labor at Buchenwald...

    Small bore references??

Sparse Materials Ronnie, English materials are sparse, in German or not all encompassing. This location on the forum is a great digital source until work is published.

    You Kill Scope Mount

The word choice and order and the 'handwriting' style lead me to think it may have been a German hand... It could be any of those three possibilities though. Wish I knew. I didn't put it there and neither did Robert!

I always wanted to create this image with text and a blown up angle of the close-up to share. I consider it an interesting find. Enjoy!

Goslar Hunting Club? This 1942 Goslar tag is proving difficult to research and pin down. Many possibilities with the German Shepard head and number '106' below. Originally attached or a keepsake attachment associated with the rifle?

    markings on kkw stock

Could you post a bigger picture with its location on the stock or say where its location is? What make? S/N? The one mark looks like the SA logo(a bit small to see), but the two different stamps, different fonts, sizes, I don't believe those two numbers to be unit associated neccessarily...

My theory on hand pressed unit numbers on training rifles.

Another day, another rifle telling me something. When I pick up a German .22, especially a standardized rifle like a DSM, I look at in in many lights. Literally, I swing the thing around, letting the light above me, next to me, where ever, hit the stock especially, in horizontal directions...
