    V2

V2 photos Thanks for those, more would be great. It's nothing short of totally amazing to see what the Nazis were able to build in times that had to have been very difficult for them. Pete

    MP44 Flat?

top rib Interesting those museum pieces have the top rib prior to folding. Note the verticle ribs that are in the very front of a MP and the round pressed in spot at the rear of the receiver block area are not there. The part of the Sturmgewehr book that shows info. re the receiver mentions...

    Mp44 stock repair

looe buttstock My 44 stock was getting a bit loose and tightening the screws only helped for a short time. Loose fit of the wood to the metal socket is the problem I had. Tight screws cannot fix that. I bedded the stock into the receiver cap with epoxy like bedding a action into a stock...

93 Mauser vs Sweedish small ring Mauser (96?)

93/96 Mauser interchange Thanks again. My 93 bolt sleeve is somewhat sloppy in the bolt such that when pulling the trigger it moves down a bit before firing. Having cut the cocking surface on the bolt as needed for the Dayton Transter cock on opening kit I lost some small amount of support for...

93 Mauser vs Sweedish small ring Mauser (96?)

93/96 Thanks for that detailed reply. Thought the 96 bolt could be good to have as it is advertised as mostly NOS parts. The bolt sleeve to bolt fit in mine is somewhat sloppy due to thread wear. I'd bet finding a unused 93 bolt assy. would be near impossible. Pete

93 Mauser vs Sweedish small ring Mauser (96?)

Am wondering if the bolt and or trigger parts are interchangeable between 93 Mauser and the Sweedish small ring rifles. I see Sarco advertising complete Sweedish bolts and thinking they could be good for spares for my 8 Kurz barreled 93 build. TIA Pete

    50s Yugo Surplus 8mm.

Yugo 8MM Used a bunch of the Yugo some years back in MG42. Fine ammo, worked good with no problems except all the primers were recessed somewhat. Had to shim the firing pin in the 42 for 100% firing. Never a split case or anything like that. Might have been different Yugo than currently...

    93 Mauser action from Sarco

bolt issues I may have mis stated re the shroud. I'm probably thinking of how it must be aligned when putting the bolt back in after having it out of the rec. Thanks for the safety offer. I might take you up on that after I mess with this thing some more. Pete

    93 Mauser action from Sarco

feeding I will not know for sure till I sink the chamber to final HS but it looks like it might feed OK as is. If not I doubt I'd shorten the well. A spacer, shorter spring and follower would be a lot less work. Pete

    93 Mauser action from Sarco

project Kept seeing the 93 actions in Sarco ads. Not realizing they were not all that much shorter than 98's I got one for a long thought about 8 Kurz bolt gun. A PTR44 barrel came with a rec. I got from Recon some years back. It was to deep chambered to be usable in a 44. I turned the rear...

    93 Mauser action from Sarco

Got a 93 Mauser action from Sarco for my 8 Kurz bolt gun build. Am wondering how the safety is suppose to work. All the way left is fire but from that position it will not go up or right. Looks like the sear does not hold the cocking piece back far enough ??? What is supposed to keep the bolt...
