    Just arrived

Pre-Order Vol I-II-III Hi, Is it possible to preorder all three to purchase at once? I'm happy to wait for Vol II mid year and buy all these three together. Vol I and III should still be available right? Regards, Tones.

    Kar98AZ - 1912 Danzig

As far as I'm aware (from what I was told), the rifle is now currently third hand in Australia. I am the third, the collector I bought it off was second (who owned it for ~30yrs) and the original that the collector bought it off was the first (who owned it the remainder). The original...

    Kar98AZ - 1912 Danzig

Thanks for the correction on this, I've never quite understood - is the Kar.98A and Kar.98B the earlier carbines with 'spoon-handle' bolts?

    Kar98AZ - 1912 Danzig

I'll have a better look at the buttplate tonight and take any relevant photos, thanks. With respect to the condition: - Is there any reason for the painted parts? Is it a post Imperial rework? - I have Storz' book but haven't yet gone through it for 'depot marks' - Can the stock finish be...

Hi Team, Please see attached pics of nearly all markings for my bolt mm Kar.98A. I was looking to try and understand some of it's history. Gew98 Stock Markings, Re-blue and Lange Vizier Sight

https://www.rebelgunworks.com.au/collections/military/products/gew-98-8x57-21486 Is this an IDF capture/WWI reparations rifle? It looks like sanded stock and reblue - does anyone notice anything else not original? Regards, Tones.

    Potential Turd Alert (AUS)

Hi Team, Found this for sale today on a used gun website. Claiming "100% matching serial numbers Immaculate condition" Photos are attached. AFAIK The asterisk is a MXXXXXXX Mauser's mark to cover RC marks (sorry had to censor the swearing). Also, the stock looks too perfect and not correct...

    1916 Spandau Gewehr 98

Out of curiousity, whereabouts did you find these two rifles in Australia? I have trouble trying to find such buys.

    Israeli and Turkish k98

If you are referring to the 1930's Turkish mausers with and a K98k Israeli conversion, then AFAIK they are two very different rifles. The first is based on the Gewehr 98 and similar to the G98(m) - the second is a later modified version of this (K98). Anyone else to firmly shed some light?

    Matching Bayonets and Rifles

Thank you very much for your replies. I'll be on the lookout for some of these as per your recommendations. Is there any 1 book/reference guide that you would recommend for this kind of info, hopefully with lots of pictures? Also, IIRC the Kar98AZ is a 1912. Tones.
