UPDATE: I missed a clear stamped '40 on the spine of the blade so that answers my earlier question. I've added a picture of the spine.
Seems like '40 cqh codes aren't all that common but it's a shame the scabbard doesn't match. Would there still be any collector interest in a 40cqh without the matching scabbard?
I picked up this 84/98 III bayonet with mismatched scabbard and frog recently. The blade is marked "cqh" but with no year code and WaA883 waffenamts. From what I've researched Clemen & Jung used WaA883 from '40-'41 and the "cqh" code from '41-'44 which leads me to believe the bayonet was made in '41. Is there any reason the blade would be missing the 41 year code that is seen on other cqh bayonets made in 1941?
The scabbard is marked Jos Corts 1938 and the frog Franz Brehme Walsrode 1942. I've included pictures of these as well.
