SOS 2024 find is a matching but the optics Sauer High Turret 7365N. Optics on it now Kahles H4X60 Scope probably for a BYF Turret. Rare scope as it was one that did not get used at Sauer as most Kahles H4X60 did. Scope numbered on the ring and not the rim. Need to find a Sauer DKL or Kahles H4X60 Scope for this rifle.

Sauer really made sure the surface of the receiver is perfectly filed for the base! Almost possible to count the file streaks.

If you want a more challenging task you should consider getting a Lovec scope for your rifle instead of Kahles or dkl+ :D

Edit: it does have a checkered buttplate, does it?

I put my 4 digit rifle serial 7526 Sauer DKL serial 1554 Scope on it. Only 161 numbers off the rifle 7365N. Of course could be a different letter block. Looks better on there then the Kahles H4X60 Scope in my opinion. Need to find another Sauer Scope. Will only take a couple years to find at present rate of things, but who knows.

I remember that rifle. Nice weapon. He had some Finnish snipers too. One quite nice but way high if I recall. He also had a M41/b as well… oberndorf 1899 ish with Original stock. Very nice. The HT as I recall was not bad price wise. Nice score

Just an observation, that scope sits further forward in the rings then most I have seen. With normal cheek weld, can you see through it?
Very nice.

Here’s a DKL from Roberts Book. It does sit farther forward than some scopes I think. Viewing through it seems ok.

Here’s another DKL Turret scope.

Yes the dkl are placed further forward than the hendsoldt, I don't know if it's because of the distance from the eyepiece or the access to the small screw which is located under the mount. This screw must be tightened when reassembling the optics after soldering the rings.

on the hensolt the screw is above on the top and is located at the back of the ring
