I do agree a better photo would help clarify , but imo the font looks to be original . Here is a comparison

Dialytan BMJ question

Hi Group, Im a new member from Germany. Recently I bought some scopes, and one of them is this Dialytan BMJ 66159 It looks a bit strange to me according what I see in Spielauers Book. Its an early scope (66159) but I cannot place the front ring... The front and back mountings are stamped with...

&strange that it was double-struck that way. (numeral 4 is also double struck, but right side up).
Easy enough to see how a punch w/square body might be held upside down, but then struck twice?
