In Volume II a, page 336, there is a discussion at the top of the page regarding 1944 Sauer rifles with a “C” marked on the stock have not been observed. Where on the stock would that “C” be located?

On the keel of Menzel supplied stocks. Towards the end, there are a handful of different stock scenarios with Sauer completed rifles.

Ok, thank you. This appears to be a “C” on the keel of a CE 44.

Also a Waffenamt visible. This is the first time I’ve seen a laminate K98 stock so dried out that you can see the layers split.
