Any Idea on What Caused This Damage on this ChdA Banner K?

A guy named bubba. That has never heard of a brass/plastic hammer.

He went full on carpentry hammer to get that band off…

Idiot wear is my biggest pet peeve of milsurp.

Haha honestly that's what I thought it looked like too...just didn't know if there was any cooler explanation. It's a vet bring back with a duffel cut I'm guessing maybe he tried other means before resorting to cutting it down :LOL:

I would like to think a WWII Veteran is smarter than this. I bet it’s Bubba from the 1960’s-80’s.
 
I had the same thing happen while using a chipping hammer to try and free up the band. Then, when I was taking another swig, I noticed the pin was still in.
