Just got this and wanted to post some quick pics....This one has that distinctive smell that only untouched wood has. Nice proof marks.

The German phosphate process formulation is different than the US . On these guns and p- 38's there can be a mottled effect. The barrel on this example is blued and the rest of the gun is phosphated.Jack and Model,
Very nice rifles! I want to get a late war gun like this at some point. The one in the trader last week was very tempting. I am curious to know though, why do these late war Walter K43s have two tone finishes on the receivers and bolt carriers? They remind me of M1 Garands thatwere dipped.
