By organic, i meant me [emoji23]Welcome to the forum. Don't worry, the wood still looks to be in decent shape. Its just the red shellac that is flaking off. Good score. [emoji106]
Cheers mateHello and welcome from England[emoji106]
Nice looking rifle you have.
I hate to ask a potentially silly question here (and yes i did search for an answer but nothing jumped out at me) but what do you mean by e/4 proofed barrel?I like the e/4 proofed barrel. Welcome aboard.
It's a Sauer reciever Dave. You can see a shadow of the "14..."The barrel has WaA4 proofs on the barrel, indicating bSw proofing. The bSw manufacturer is my preferred maker of k98's. Not sure how that barrel ended up on and serial numbered to this RC rifle but it has my interest. You say it's a 1940 rifle. Though bSw ceased production in 1939 so it would appear a leftover barrel was used on that receiver. What is the manufacturer code?

On the top of the reciever is the 14... and assuming a 7, the barrel is definitely WaA4 marked!Damn it, I see e/4's everywhere now. It doesn't look like enough room between the A and 4 for anything to me.

If anyone knows what a WaA4 looks like it's you lol. It's definitely interesting a BSW barrel ended up on a Sauer reciever.Oh yes, I did indeed. I forgot about that part..
