Looks like an 80s rifle. Bleached, sanded and cleared stock. It was the style so I'm told. You can see a few nicks in the edge of the front sight base and they're blued.

And there you go! Seriously though hopefully you got it for a good price.

Got it. Many (most) of us came that way too. And many of us got burned, some worse than others. The frustration comes when people seek (and get) good opinions and then do the opposite.

Not sure why you're so insistent but I'll entertain this. Yes IMHO the bolt numbers are all real. The bottom metal is spot on for type, maker and numbering. However as Jordan pointed out I'd be...

Of course he did. And while he's not lying it might as well be for all intents. Others have chimed in with a lot of what's wrong with it but I'd ask what your objective is with this particular...

This is a theory we can totally agree on, not just at Simson. Each station had parts bins and not all employees worked at the same production rate. As the bins were refilled periodically 'older'...

Agreed. I also think this is both a beautiful example and a fairly significant variant from a historical perspective. IMO, we know the Simson to BSW move was blatant Nazi anti-Semitism. Seems...
