    8mm ammo

Interesting. Did you use the same powder over?
What about the bullets? Looked to me that the bullets would fall into the cases due to the taper of them if seated in far enough to fit in a mag.
    I...

    turk ammo

    Strictly for what it's worth.
I have a fair amount of it and have shot in my bolt guns. It feels fairly hot but consistant. I pulled down couple hundred rounds to reduce the charges 5 or 6 grains to...

    V2 photos

Thanks for those, more would be great.
It's nothing short of totally amazing to see what the Nazis were able to build in times that had to have been very difficult for them.

    top rib

Interesting those museum pieces have the top rib prior to folding. Note the verticle ribs that are in the very front of a MP and the round pressed in spot at the rear of the receiver block area are...

    looe buttstock

My 44 stock was getting a bit loose and tightening the screws only helped for a short time. Loose fit of the wood to the metal socket is the problem I had. Tight screws cannot fix that. I bedded the...
  6. 93/96 Mauser interchange

Thanks again. My 93 bolt sleeve is somewhat sloppy in the bolt such that when pulling the trigger it moves down a bit before firing. Having cut the cocking surface on the bolt as needed for the...
  7. 93/96

Thanks for that detailed reply. Thought the 96 bolt could be good to have as it is advertised as mostly NOS parts. The bolt sleeve to bolt fit in mine is somewhat sloppy due to thread wear. I'd bet...
  8. 93 Mauser vs Sweedish small ring Mauser (96?)

Am wondering if the bolt and or trigger parts are interchangeable between 93 Mauser and the Sweedish small ring rifles.
I see Sarco advertising complete Sweedish bolts and thinking they could be...

    Yugo 8MM

Used a bunch of the Yugo some years back in MG42. Fine ammo, worked good with no problems except all the primers were recessed somewhat. Had to shim the
firing pin in the 42 for 100% firing. Never...

    bolt issues

I may have mis stated re the shroud. I'm probably thinking of how it must be aligned when putting the bolt back in after having it out of the rec.
Thanks for the safety offer. I might take you up on...

    feeding

I will not know for sure till I sink the chamber to final HS but it looks like it might feed OK as is. If not I doubt I'd shorten the well. A spacer, shorter spring and follower would be a lot less...

    project

Kept seeing the 93 actions in Sarco ads. Not realizing they were not all that much shorter than 98's I got one for a long thought about 8 Kurz bolt gun. A PTR44 barrel came with a rec. I got from...

    93 Mauser action from Sarco

Got a 93 Mauser action from Sarco for my 8 Kurz bolt gun build. Am wondering how the safety is suppose to work. All the way left is fire but from that position it will not go up or right. Looks like...

    explanation

[QUOTE=GunKraut;243479]It's a Kommiefornia thing. The crooks running the state of CA first declared any centerfire rifle having a pistol grip and a detachable magazine an "Assault Weapon", then set a...

    bending fixture.

Interesting. Looks though like some of the rib detail is not there. Could be they pressed those as part of folding. Or is the flat pictured missing a press stage prior to folding? Putting the ribs in...

    the description

Wonder where that came from. Did anyone read the description? Buy the thing for 1.5 K or whatever, get from FFL it's sent to, send to HMG for a build. W T F ??
C'mon Dingo, get those flats in...

    lead shims????

Glad you saw that too. I know I commented on it. Ian HAS to know better I'd think. Hard to know where that nugget of info came from.

    shooting them

I'm with you Sen. When I look at all the empty 8 pound powder containers in my loading room I know I've shot and do shoot my MP's a bunch.

    papers

Perhaps a PTR44 owner could contact PTR and state that he was concerned about his rifle having been legally imported and see if they would share the import info.
    Could not hurt to try??

That's an interesting question. Would not the company that originally imported the rifles be the one to have that? Jerry at Recon might know about a letter but perhaps not as even though he sold the...

    ammo

That has to be a good price in todays world. I was buying FNM (Privi made) for .60 from Coles Dist. in KY. But that was a few years ago and what they had has to be long gone.

    9mm MP ?

A guy (retired German machinist) I know made 2 9MM's using part set MP44 pieces. Made his own 9MM blowback bolts and put Sterling SMG mags inside knock off MP44 mags.I shot both of them at the Creek...
  25. cases

Pat, my post was worst case scenario. You never know until fired cases are examined. Most of the Sturmgewehrs fired cases are just fine for reloading.
