Will a K98k cleaning rod work on a G98/40? I understand the G98/40 shaft has a slighter diameter, but are the threaded ends identical? What are the alternatives if the K98k cleaning rod won’t work?

What would be the correct follower manufacturer for a k98k bcd 44 in the g block. I know “lxr“ appears to be predominant for this year, but was wondering if extractors marked with “l” may have been used in the course of early 1944 manufacturing.

The non ribbed bolt carrier strongly suggests the comment of an earlier reply, that perhaps during this period of production there were earlier rejected parts put to use.

Another Panel Cut I own an AC44 panel cut all matching sniper (to include the mount). It carries a p suffix and has the earlier non ribbed bolt carrier. Of the two K43’s I have, this one is my obvious pride and joy!
