    DUV 42 Pics

I own duv 42 serial 8903p. Vaughn99 did a nice serial number study on these over on Gunboards. If I recall correctly the conclusion on this was that p and q block were 42 production because of the suffix location below the serial. R block and on we're 1943 as the suffix was on the same line as...

byf41 rifle and byf42 acceptances and final proof

Ac4142 I just remembered about 10 years ago I owned a byf 42 that might fit your request. It was a Russian capture with a bead blasted bolt. It had 2x655 and 1x135 for a final on the receiver. It is in the "b" block. The barrel was 1940 marked with 3x655's. Found a couple of old photos sorry for...

What is yours favorit mauser 98k maker code, and why?

BYF for me probably because I own a couple. Both bolt mm. Both 1941. First is an "h" block with a flat butt walnut stock. The second is "ff" cupped laminate with "L" marking on the buttstock. They are not safe queens as they both seem to have seen action. The "ff" has mixed 2X E/655 and 1X E/135...

    Swedens K98 Rifles

I have a 147 1940 b block that has the "SS" acceptance mark. This one found it's way to Central America after it's service in Israel and has the pits to prove it. Nice bore, however, and a good shooter...

    1937 Port

I think so. I paid $875 a little over a year ago. Mine is in similar condition. Matching, early K98 with a great bore. People are paying $400-500 for Russian Capture rifles. Bolt mismatches going for $800. You done good. Ski

"P" letter cartouche on grip of 98k wooden stocks...

I have what I think is a "P" armorer stock. P marked with no numbers in the barrel channel or on the butt . Has two very faint E/655's on the keel. Flat butt plate and drilled for a 12.5 inch cleaning rod. It has a Imperial recoil lug. The bayo lug is also Imperial and serial numbered 13...

BYF 42 No suffix is this right?

I owned a rc byf 42 "b" block that was finished in the 1941 pattern. 1940 dated barrel with e/655x3. Right receiver e/655x2 and e/135. Not a MM even though the bolt is in the white. No 135 on the receiver top. Couple of pics below. Ski

    Late Luft? byf41

I have a late byf 41 Luft. Spent some time in the Eastern Bloc. 144ff with mixed E/655/135. Markings are faint. Swaz are flattened but not obliterated. Bolt mismatched but matching to itself. Trigger guard and floor plate mismatched. All else 144ff. Rode hard but surprisingly has a very nice...
