I know little to nothing about G/K43's but that looks awesome ham.

Is that a Durafol HG ?

Hello Don,
That makes two of us ;) Jon the mod here is the best source of G/K info. I know of so I defer to him. It is a Durofol with the logo and such. It is my understanding this was the company that made these phenolic resin handguards. I'm sure they made other types of phenolic resin parts, such as bayo and pistol grips, MP grips/lowers etc.
regards,
Craig

Sweet Jesus!

Every time I see that thing I get a boner, sneeze, fart, burp, hiccup, cry, laugh, punch myself all at the same time

if youre gonna have just one, it is nice to have one in that condition!

Super condition wood, this is what it should look like

Nice that it is a "K" block qve...in the "K" block examples can be had that are marked "duv44 G43", "duv44 K43", and like Ham's "qve45 K43"...that time period was the transition from the "duv" code and "G43" markings to the "qve" and "K43" markings that were used until the war's end

Id love to a close up of the mount proof if there is one.... I think the mount and scope are much later production (relatively speaking)...note the all phosphate lever, and it loks to be unnumbered......is the triangle on the dow scope green or blue? is there a tinted lense inside the rubber eye piece and if so what color is it?

I know that Durofol made p38 grips for sure, as for other stuff I cant remember without looking it up

and I do know alot, but I am obsessed, not smart....hell I didnt even know how to take apart a K43 until the SOS this year (funny AND TRUE! LOL...Brian and Farb know)

Thanks guys. JM, the triangle is blue, no filter in the eye cup. I think I have a better pic of the bird and will post it.

That is sweet, a G/K43 is on my someday list. Ham I hope I can find one half as nice as that one!
I finaly got a matching k98, so maybe one of these will be next.

Tks Mauser. They turn up. I've had this one a very long time. It came out of an old collection and I think it involved $400 and a dot 1944 his way. At the time G./K.43s in matching shape seemed more prevalent than K98ks. I used to pick up nice matching run of the mill ac 44s and duv 44s at local shows for $400-500 frequently. Matching K98ks were about $100 less generally. All that changed drastically with the G/K.43 book. People starting buying and keeping them and nice ones dried up. They are still out there though.

My rifle was made a mere 5 rifles later

Hambone,
I had to post when I saw your serial #. I recognized it, well almost. I also strained to tell if your last digit was a 1 or a 7, a 7 would have made it consecutive. Anyway, here is mine, 5 rifles after yours was made.
Later,
Diehard

Looks like I can have time to study up.He claims he already sold it.....Dont know if I really believe he had it now as I pinned him down and stated I had first call on it.He was waffleing and came up with his usual lame stories.Known him for years and it dont surprise me.

Thanks anyway.
