Suggestions on Cleaning Dug WWII Artifacts?

In response to the above post about being stripped from POW's, I saw online that something like 8,000 German soldiers were captured in that battle. Good chance it came from one of them.

I think that the possibility that they might be from a grave is enough to put the burden on the buyer to prove otherwise. It's known that a lot of dug artifacts such as metals are sourced from graves. Grave robbery is a despicable act, and it's not mitigated by how far down the chain you are from the actual diggers. Metals, rings and other personal items are different from issued equipment. Buying these types of personal items encourages the desecration and destruction of soldier's graves and makes the buyer a grave robbing participant.

That is a good enough explanation for me. From what the original poster has said I don't think he has bought these type of items before and he is not going to purchase any more. I have none of these types of items and I don't plan to buy any.
